RocketFox STEM Program

In this exciting 6-week STEM program, students will become real-world rocket designers as they take on the challenge of creating, testing, and launching their own rocket prototypes! From sketch to sky, this hands-on course blends engineering design with experimental science to teach students the full development process behind building a rocket.

Using professional CAD software (OnShape), students will learn how to design their own custom rocket ships. Along the way, they’ll explore safe household chemical reactions to understand how thrust is generated and how different fuels affect performance. Through prototyping and testing, students will analyze their results, refine their designs, and apply engineering thinking to improve their rockets.

Each week builds toward a final challenge: launch day! Students will compete to see whose rocket travels the farthest using their own optimized design and chemical fuel combination.
